Experimental Catchment Nucice

 

Main purpose: Rainfall-runoff processes, soil erosion, sediment transport

- Temporal and spatial distribution of zones involved in runoff generation and sediment transport at the catchment

- Temporal variability in a connectivity of the surface, topsoil and fragipan as a result of macropores and intra-aggregate voids networks

- Non invasive monitoring of the spatial uniformity of compacted subsoil layer

- GIS, distributed soil erosion modelling

 

- Location: Czech Republic, Central Bohemia (49.9636919°N, 14.8703553°E)

- Area: 53 ha

- Altitude: 382 m – 417 m a. s. l.

                - Slopes: 1 – 12% (mean 3.9%)

- Soil type: Cambisols, Luvisols

- Climate: humid continental, average annual precipitation 630 mm, mean annual air temperature 6 °C

- Land use: agriculture, active cultivation (98%), the fields are cultivated right up to the stream banks with no buffer zones. No urbanization or resident population.
